Meet Jayne Morgan-Kidd
Formal Education and Training in EFT and EMDR
Jayne received her Master’s in Counseling in 1997 from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2002 and has a specialization in the areas of Family Violence and Sexual Abuse and Trauma. Jayne began studying EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) in 2003.
She attended many EFT conferences including several conferences devoted to the topic of Using EFT with Serious Diseases. She has used EFT with clients since 2003.
In 2008 and 2009, she completed the EFT Certifications offered by EFT Founder Gary Craig. In 2012, Jayne completed a EMDRIA-Certified Training Program for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Jayne worked for 8 years in a Crisis Center and provided counseling for clients with emotional and physical problems due to family violence and/or sexual assault and abuse. She opened a private practice in San Antonio, Texas in 2008, where she works with clients of varied backgrounds. Using EFT and EMDR, Jayne has helped people obtain relief from a variety of emotional problems including self-esteem issues, stress reactions, anger, grief, anxiety, fears, panic attacks, agoraphobia, other phobias, and PTSD reactions to physical, emotional, verbal and sexual assault or other trauma.
She has also used EFT to address various physical problems that often accompany chronic emotional distress, including headaches and other problems with pain in the body.
While searching for an answer to a chronic physical condition I had several years ago, I literally stumbled over EFT. I tried the traditional medical approach and was told that there was no cure for my problem, only symptom-reduction medicines and techniques which frankly had no effect. So I began looking into alternatives. I went to a naturopath who gave me some hope, some supplements and some websites to look at. One of the websites was www.mercola.com with a link to the official EFT website.
I was fascinated with energy treatment ideas. I began to address my own issues, resolving the disruptions in my energy system, and finally brought to an end a 10-year physical problem that I had been told by medical doctors was impossible to change.
My experience at the crisis center gave me the opportunity to develop my skills with EFT and to test its effectiveness with clients who have varied and complicated histories. People who have endured emotional, physical and sexual abuse often have physical problems that accompany their emotional distress. I find that EFT is extremely effective in addressing the various forms of these related issues.
Note: While EFT has achieved excellent results with many physical conditions, the technique should not be seen as a substitute for appropriate medical care and should always be used in conjunction with medical consultation for such conditions.
